About The Position

The School of Religious Studies is hiring two course lecturers to teach RELG 341 Introduction: Philosophy of Religion in Winter 2026 term. This is a 3 credit course scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:05pm to 5:25pm, located in BIRKS 205. The course covers topics such as faith and reason, theistic arguments, values and destiny, the problem of evil, and religious language.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Ph.D. in religious studies, or PhD advanced candidacy.
  • Evidence of superior teaching ability, in the form of prior teaching.
  • Proposed course outline/syllabus to indicate how the applicant would present the course.
  • CV.
  • Names of two referees.
  • MCLIU application form.
  • Authorized to work in Canada.
  • Willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based/located.
  • English communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Teach RELG 341 Introduction: Philosophy of Religion in the Winter 2026 term.
  • Present an introduction to the subject of Philosophy of Religion.
  • Cover topics including faith and reason, theistic arguments, values and destiny, the problem of evil, and religious language.
