About The Position

The School of Religious Studies is hiring two course lecturers to team-teach RELG 270 Religious Ethics and the Environment in the Fall 2026 term. The topic of this course is the potential of various religious traditions and secular perspectives on environmental issues, including animal rights, ecofeminism, and deep ecology.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Ph.D. in religious studies, or PhD advanced candidacy.
  • Evidence of superior teaching ability, in the form of prior teaching.
  • Candidate's area of specialization should be as close as possible to the course topic (Environmental ethics, animal rights, ecofeminism, deep ecology).
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada.
  • Must be willing to work in the province of Quebec.
  • Proficiency in English communication (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

  • Team-teach RELG 270 Religious Ethics and the Environment in the Fall 2026 term.
