About The Position

McGill University is seeking a Course Lecturer for FMTP 071 Poésie, théâtre et écriture for the Fall 2026 session. The session runs from August 24 to December 18, 2026. The McGill exam sessions take place over two weeks after the end of classes, and Course Lecturers are expected to be available on the day of a scheduled final exam and are required to grade final exams as part of their contract. The lecture schedule is Wednesday from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Requirements

  • Master's degree in French or equivalent.
  • Prior teaching experience at the college level, with this or similar French second language courses leading to the Uniform French Examination.
  • Relevant non-teaching experience (presentations, workshops, field days, professional consultation, etc) or professional practice will also be considered.
  • Authorized to work in Canada.
  • Willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based/located.
  • English communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

  • A lecturer who has taught the course twice previously is considered to meet the TQR’s.

Responsibilities

  • Teach FMTP 071 Poésie, théâtre et écriture.
  • Be available on the day of a scheduled final exam.
  • Grade final exams as part of the contract.
