About The Position

Student Wellness provides programs, education, resources, and facilities that promote life-long behaviors for a healthier, happier, and successful life. The SWELL Course Administrator provides primary support and assistance to the Assistant Director of Student Wellness by managing and administering academic wellness courses. This role oversees approximately 210 sections of elective wellness courses taught by adjunct instructors and is responsible for coordinating schedules, instructors, course logistics, and grade submissions. Note: This is a part-time position (28 hours per week).

Requirements

  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in Office or Higher Education
  • Knowledge of recreation activities, including acquiring, maintaining, and repairing equipment and managing supplies

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in wellness or higher education
  • Technical aptitude for course management systems and university systems
  • Experience with program assessment, marketing, and student engagement initiatives
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

  • Research, develop, and implement SWELL courses aligned with the mission and dimensions of Student Wellness
  • Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with campus departments and community organizations
  • Plan and manage all SWELL courses, including facilities, equipment, instructors, and registration
  • Coordinate course schedules, instructors, and facility usage to ensure smooth operations
  • Oversee hiring processes for SWELL instructors, including posting, interviewing, and selection
  • Evaluate course effectiveness through assessments, learning outcomes, and student feedback
  • Conduct interest surveys and analyze enrollment trends to align offerings with student needs
  • Promote SWELL courses through orientations, events, and outreach efforts
  • Manage marketing efforts including website updates, social media, and branding initiatives
  • Maintain awareness of trends, research, and best practices in Student Wellness
  • Attend professional conferences and workshops related to wellness and education
  • Develop and manage partnerships, vendor agreements, and research opportunities
  • Support departmental programming, outreach, and policy development
  • Provide regular reports on participation, assessment outcomes, and program success metrics
