About The Position

This is a full-time Courier position with Advocate Health, working the 2nd shift every Tuesday through Saturday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The role involves transporting and delivering medical specimens and supplies, ensuring their integrity and confidentiality. Responsibilities include proper handling of sensitive and hazardous materials, adhering to schedules and safety protocols, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, and effective communication with clients, staff, and dispatch. The position also requires responding to urgent requests, documenting deliveries, supporting workflow improvements, and handling physical tasks such as lifting up to 60 lbs and using freight equipment. Collecting payments or signatures may also be required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • Strong communication, customer service.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient related information.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Transport and deliver all assigned items, including medical specimens and supplies, ensuring integrity and confidentiality.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and transport of sensitive and hazardous materials.
  • Adhere to schedules, routes, and safety protocols.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and scheduled maintenance.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, staff, and dispatch.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to urgent delivery requests and phone calls.
  • Document deliveries and support workflow improvements.
  • Handle physical tasks (lifting to 60 lbs) and use freight equipment as needed.
  • Collect payments or signatures as needed.
