About The Position

This PRN Courier position is based at Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana. The courier drives throughout the city and surrounding areas to ensure the timely pickup and delivery of laboratory specimens, supplies, and other items to and from the hospital. The position involves reviewing client specimen request information for accuracy and proper packaging; sorting client reports and deliveries according to specimen type and required department; and maintaining a daily activity record of trips, destinations, arrival and departure times, and the number of requests. The schedule has rotating hours, is approximately 24 hours per week, and may include 16 hours every other weekend at times.

Requirements

• High school graduation or GED equivalent.
• Valid Indiana operator's license and a good driving history.
• Understanding of Indiana traffic laws.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive throughout the city and surrounding areas to pick up and deliver laboratory specimens, supplies, and other items to and from the hospital in a timely manner.
• Review client specimen request information for accuracy and proper packaging.
• Assist with sorting client reports.
• Assist with sorting deliveries by specimen type and required department.
• Maintain a daily activity record indicating trips, destinations, arrival and departure times, and number of requests.
