About The Position
This is a PRN Courier position with rotating hours, approximately 24 hours per week and potentially 16 hours every other weekend. Based at Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana, the Courier drives throughout the city and surrounding areas to ensure timely pickup and delivery of laboratory specimens, supplies, and other items to and from the hospital.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
- Valid Indiana operator’s license and a good driving history.
- Understanding of Indiana traffic laws.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Strong customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Review client specimen request information for accuracy and proper packaging.
- Assist with sorting client reports.
- Sort deliveries according to specimen type and required department.
- Maintain a daily activity record showing the number of trips, destinations, arrival and departure times, and number of requests.
- Pick up and deliver laboratory specimens, supplies, and other items to and from the hospital.
