Courier/Part-time - Tyler, Texas
About The Position
The Courier transports reports, records, supplies, and medical specimens between the laboratory and healthcare provider locations, supporting the patient care process. The role requires proper specimen handling, safe vehicle operation in varying weather and traffic conditions, and customer-focused interaction with a variety of clients. The Courier champions safety, compliance, and quality control. The role is based in Tyler, Texas, is part-time, and is scheduled for 20 hours per week on the first shift. It is not benefit eligible. The role includes incidental exposure to Protected Health Information (PHI); employees receive training on reasonable safeguards and must follow applicable privacy, confidentiality, and security standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and an excellent driving record for the past three years.
- Confidence operating a vehicle in all weather and traffic conditions and navigating routine road hazards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under time constraints without close supervision.
- Physical capability for light to medium lifting, up to 50 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Two or more years of experience operating conventional vehicles for business purposes, including cars, trucks, and/or vans.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
