About The Position

To provide pickup and delivery service of mail, supplies, equipment and various other items and assist in warehouse functions. The courier receives direct supervision by the warehouse supervisor. This role involves making routine and non-routine pickups and deliveries of mail, supplies, equipment, food, furniture, case goods, court files, etc., at court facilities, vendors and local businesses. The courier will drive a court van, load and unload items, and may utilize a hand truck or other means to move items. Responsibilities also include filling orders or issuing supplies from requisition forms, receiving diversified and specialized supplies, materials, equipment and other commodities, examining items to detect unacceptable goods and conformance to orders, operating a computerized inventory system, sorting/delivering inbound mail/packages, and processing outbound mail and packages for pickup. Additionally, the role involves preparing meeting rooms, setting up audio-visual equipment, and moving/setting up furniture and equipment.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of local area addresses in order to locate businesses.
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate personal computer.
  • Ability to operate a cargo van in a safe and prudent manner in year-round weather conditions.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to physically access buildings and businesses, which may require climbing stairs.
  • Ability to make accurate arithmetical calculations.
  • Ability to read handwritten, or small printed words/numbers rapidly, and accurately.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull 100 pounds, and ability to carry 70 pounds.
  • High School diploma or equivalent plus one year of warehouse experience, which should include at least two of the following: material handling, inventory control, and order entry.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid class E driver’s license from state of residence and provide proof of such.
  • All candidates selected for employment will be subject to background screenings as part of the hiring process.
  • Certain positions may also require additional checks, including but not limited to education verification, child abuse and neglect clearances, drug screenings, and physical assessments, as applicable to the responsibilities of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare meeting rooms, and set up audio-visual equipment, move/set up furniture, equipment, etc.
  • Perform other duties as required.
