About The Position

This position provides pickup and delivery services for mail, supplies, equipment, and various other items within court facilities, vendors, and local businesses. The role also involves assisting in warehouse functions, including receiving, inventorying, and distributing supplies. The courier operates a court van and may utilize equipment to move items. Additionally, the position supports meeting room preparation and audio-visual equipment setup.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of local area addresses to locate businesses.
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate a personal computer.
  • Ability to operate a cargo van in a safe and prudent manner in year-round weather conditions.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to physically access buildings and businesses, which may require climbing stairs.
  • Ability to make accurate arithmetical calculations.
  • Ability to read handwritten, or small printed words/numbers rapidly, and accurately.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull 100 pounds.
  • Ability to carry 70 pounds.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of warehouse experience, which should include at least two of the following: material handling, inventory control, and order entry.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid class E driver’s license from state of residence and provide proof of such.
  • All candidates selected for employment will be subject to background screenings.
  • Certain positions may also require additional checks, including but not limited to education verification, child abuse and neglect clearances, drug screenings, and physical assessments, as applicable to the responsibilities of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Make routine and non-routine pickups and deliveries of mail, supplies, equipment, food, furniture, case goods, court files, etc., at court facilities, vendors and local businesses.
  • Drive a court van, load and unload items, and may utilize a hand truck or other means to move items.
  • Fill orders or issue supplies from requisition forms by gathering all requested items and attaching the requisition.
  • Receive diversified and specialized supplies, materials, equipment, and other commodities.
  • Examine items to detect unacceptable goods and conformance to orders.
  • Operate a computerized inventory system regarding materials received.
  • Sort and deliver inbound mail/packages, and process outbound mail and packages for pickup.
  • Prepare meeting rooms, set up audio-visual equipment, and move/set up furniture, equipment, etc.
  • Perform other duties as required.
