About The Position
Drives and operates company vehicles to provide courteous and efficient package delivery and pickup. Checks shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service and performs related customer service functions. Drives vehicles not regulated by section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Performs other duties as assigned. This is a non-covered safety-sensitive position requiring customer contact, a neat appearance, and the ability to remain alert and work safely. The employee must be licensed for the type of vehicle assigned. Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Pay: $22.10 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and maneuver packages weighing more than 50 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person.
- Good human relations and communication skills.
- Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.
- Must be licensed for the type of vehicle assigned.
- Ability to maintain a constant state of alertness and work safely.
- Neat appearance, as customer contact is required.
