About The Position
Drives and operates company vehicles to provide courteous and efficient delivery and pick-up of packages. Checks shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service and performs related customer service functions. This is a non-covered safety-sensitive position requiring a medical exam and the ability to remain alert and work safely. Two positions are available. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be licensed for the type of vehicle assigned.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and maneuver packages above 50 pounds using appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person. The description also initially states an ability to lift 75 pounds and maneuver packages above 75 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance.
- Good human relations and verbal communication skills.
- Neat appearance, as customer contact is required.
- Must meet qualifications outlined in Section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
- Medical examination required in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.
