About The Position
Custer County is accepting applications for a full-time Maintenance II position with the Building & Grounds Maintenance Dept. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Director, and will help plan, troubleshoot, guide, lead and carry out all maintenance and janitorial tasks throughout all Custer County buildings and grounds. This position will, at times, provide leadership to up to two other employees.
Requirements
- Minimum of 18 years old
- Valid SD Driver’s License
- Pass a criminal background check
- Leadership skills
- Communicate well
- Detailed orientated
- Safety orientated when operating all tools/equipment
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Perform snow removal via shovel and power equipment
- Operate a variety of small to medium equipment
- Operate hand & power tools
- Perform repairs and routine maintenance on all County facilities and department equipment
- Climb ladders
- Perform janitorial cleaning duties
- Obtain a SD Commercial Pesticide Applicator’s License (categories G & 4)
- Work without guidance
- Provide leadership to up to two other employees
