About The Position

San Juan County is seeking applicants for multiple temporary positions for the 2026 San Juan County Fair, which will take place in July and August. These positions offer varying hours, from 16-32 hours per week. Applicants are asked to specify which position(s) they are interested in when submitting their application.

Requirements

• Ability to indicate position(s) of interest in the supplemental questionnaire.
• Availability to work the week of August 10th and pre-Fair time in July and August for Office Support.
• Availability to work the week of August 10th and some pre-Fair time for Accounting Support.
• Availability to work the weeks of August 10th and 17th with hours in July and August for Grounds Support.
• Availability to work the week of August 10th for Over-Night Security.

Responsibilities

• Perform general office duties, including acting as a courier between the office and fair events/sites.
• Assist with entertainment venues and vendor sign-ups and coordination.
• Handle ticket sales and provide general public relations and clerical support.
• Prepare ticket sellers’ cash boxes, receive gate receipts, reconcile cash and ticket sales, and prepare bank deposits and record sales information.
• Set up and maintain grounds and buildings prior to and during the Fair, which may include carpentry, light labor, janitorial, and clean-up tasks.
• Monitor the grounds, camping area, exhibit buildings, and vendor areas for over-night security during the entire fairgrounds.
