About The Position

We serve the residents of Hamilton County in more ways than you may realize! As the County Clerk here with Hamilton County, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective functioning of county governance by performing a diverse array of duties encompassing statutory responsibilities, administrative support functions, and critical liaison roles within the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • three (3) to five (5) years experience in office practices and procedures
  • advanced knowledge of government structure, office procedure, and word processing
  • demonstrable ability to type and to perform various responsible administrative tasks

Responsibilities

  • Attends Board of County Commissioners' meetings (including meetings that may occur in the evenings and at various locations throughout Hamilton County) and takes minutes.
  • Prepares, certifies and distributes official documents of commission (e.g., minutes, resolutions, letters, specifications, transcripts, contracts, correspondence, etc.).
  • Responsible for the administration and oversight of the Commissioners Agenda and Minutes Application.
  • Administer the entire appointment process, including the selection, appointment, onboarding, and ongoing communication throughout the term.
  • Provides direct supervision, leadership, training, and performance management of assigned staff, ensuring accountability, quality of work, and alignment with office priorities.
  • Performs various administrative and support functions for the Board of Commissioners.
  • Schedules and prepares information for Commissioners' meetings and public hearings.
