About The Position

As a County Caseworker 1 with the Columbia-Montour-Snyder-Union Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities Unit, you will help individuals and families work toward healthier and more stable lives. This position introduces you to the world of community support while allowing you to develop strong skills in case management. You will work closely with others who share a passion for helping people grow and succeed. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting difference. This position focuses on supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or serious mental illness by helping them access resources and services in their homes and communities. The role requires strong communication and teamwork skills to assist people in reaching a better quality of life.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college level course work which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case management functions.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Must pass a background investigation.
  • Satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to consumers and families within their homes or communities

  • Identify challenges and match individuals with appropriate supports

  • Coordinate efforts with staff and partners to ensure effective care
