About The Position

Located in Honesdale, PA (northeastern PA), this role focuses on guiding individuals through important service systems and helping them receive the supports they need. As a County Caseworker 1, you will perform duties such as creating individualized plans that outline supports and services, connecting individuals and families with appropriate providers, maintaining organized files and documentation, assisting individuals in obtaining approved services and resources, and traveling to complete in-person visits in a variety of community settings. This is a full-time position with 37.5 hours per week, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with a 1-hour lunch. The position may involve overnight or out-of-county travel for meetings or training, and potentially irregular hours including evenings and weekends. Supports Coordinators are not on call but may be called out in an emergency. Telework is not an option for this position.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college level course work which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences
  • A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case management functions
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions
  • Must pass a background investigation
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening
  • Must submit and have approved satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance
