Requirements

  • Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license which is not under suspension.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Able to perform essential job functions.
  • Satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all child welfare activities follow State and Federal requirements
  • Complete required forms and records in an accurate and timely manner
  • Schedule and review all petitions needed for Court Reviews
  • Coordinate training, evaluation, and approval of foster families
  • Maintain reports, statistics, and summaries to support budget preparation
