About The Position

This role performs professional social service work of a supervisory nature. It supports consistent practice, regulatory compliance, and effective communication across the agency. As a County Casework Manager 1, you will perform the following duties: Staff Supervision: Provide formal supervision and guidance to Ongoing Protective Services Casework Supervisors and the Agency’s Social Service Aide Supervisor Employee Development: Train staff on new and existing procedures, policies, and regulations; maintain the Agency’s policy and procedure manual Planning Assistance: Help develop the Agency’s Annual Needs Based Plan and Budget, providing budget trends and identifying needs Issue Resolution: Discuss problems or unusual cases presented by staff, identify solutions, and determine when higher-level review is needed Quality Assurance: Evaluate case records to ensure services comply with regulations and meet or exceed service delivery standards.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience in public or private social work which included one year in a public welfare program and one year in a supervisory capacity
  • A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences
  • Meet the PA residency requirement
  • Be able to perform essential job functions
  • Pass a background investigation
  • Pass a drug screening (conditional offer of employment)
  • Satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance (conditional offer of employment)
