About The Position

Kerten Hospitality (KH) is seeking an experienced and legally qualified Country Manager for Egypt. This role is crucial for overseeing KH's operations and growth within Egypt, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and driving operational excellence across multiple properties. The Country Manager will act as the legal representative for the company in Egypt, manage all licensing and regulatory requirements, and support the pre-opening and ongoing management of Kerten Hospitality's expanding portfolio in the region. The role involves close collaboration with group functions and local stakeholders to foster a culture aligned with Kerten Hospitality's values of Connection, Curation, Innovation, and Leading the Way.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years' experience in hotel management activities, including at least 3 years as a manager in a 4-star or 5-star hotel in Egypt (or equivalent in a hotel abroad).
• Egyptian national with no criminal convictions, evidenced by a valid criminal status certificate is required.
• Holder of a decree, as required by the Ministry of Tourism for appointment as a hotel management company manager.
• Proficiency in at least one foreign language, evidenced by a certificate from a recognised language centre or education provider.
• Able to commit to a full-time role restricted to the management of one hotel management company only.
• Fluent Arabic and English, additional language certificate is required.
• Strong knowledge of Egyptian hospitality regulations, Ministry of Tourism procedures, and local business practices.
• Solid understanding of hotel operations, financial management, budgeting, and P&L accountability.
• Experience dealing with government authorities and managing licensing, compliance, and regulatory matters.
• High level of integrity, discretion, and accountability, appropriate to the responsibilities of a legal representative and authorised signatory.

Responsibilities

• Act as the legally appointed Manager for the properties in Egypt, as registered with and licensed by the Ministry of Tourism.
• Serve as authorised signatory for all agreements, and official documents executed by the company, in line with internal approval and delegation of authority policies.
• Represent the company before local authorities, government bodies, and regulators, including the Ministry of Tourism, and other relevant entities.
• Ensure timely obtaining, maintenance, and renewal of all company licences, registrations, permits, and Ministry of Tourism approvals.
• Ensure full compliance with the Egyptian Companies Law and all applicable local laws, regulations, and corporate governance requirements.
• Coordinate closely with the company's appointed Egyptian auditor on tax, finance, and statutory filings, ensuring deadlines and obligations are met.
• Maintain accurate corporate records and ensure proper documentation of company decisions, agreements, and regulatory correspondence.
• Support the pre-opening of new properties across the Egypt portfolio, including planning, critical path management, recruitment, training, systems set-up, and operational readiness.
• Act as a key support and relief leader to the senior operations team, stepping in to lead properties or projects as required.
• Drive guest satisfaction, service excellence, and operational efficiency across Rooms, F&B, Recreation, and support departments.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, security, and Ministry of Tourism classification and operating standards across all properties.
• Build and develop strong local teams, supporting talent acquisition, succession planning, and a culture aligned with Kerten Hospitality's values.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with owners, developers, partners, and key stakeholders in Egypt.
• Collaborate with Group functions including Finance, HR, Legal, Commercial, and Development to support the growth of the Egypt portfolio.
