About The Position

FICUS Health is seeking a Country Manager for the Netherlands to lead the market entry phase. This role involves validating the market, establishing FICUS with key stakeholders, and securing initial partnerships. The Netherlands market needs to be understood, opened, and built from the ground up. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of the Dutch rehabilitation and healthcare market, including provider decision-making, funding, reimbursement, and trusted institutions. Reporting directly to the founding team, this role begins as a senior individual contributor with the potential to shape market-entry decisions and build a local team over time. The position offers genuine country ownership, evolving from market entry to full operational and P&L responsibility. The focus is on introducing FICUS as a rehabilitation operating system and AI layer, not just a documentation tool, and adapting it for the Dutch market.

Requirements

  • At least ten years of relevant experience in the Dutch healthcare or rehabilitation market (e.g., leader within a healthcare provider, rehabilitation center or hospital group, healthcare consulting, market access, or commercial leadership at a digital-health company).
  • Strong understanding of the Dutch healthcare system, including provider decision-making, health insurers, reimbursement structures, and procurement processes.
  • Relevant experience in rehabilitation, hospital care, or an adjacent provider market.
  • Established and relevant network with credibility to open doors across rehabilitation centers, hospitals, healthcare groups, health insurers, professional associations, or healthcare authorities in the Netherlands.
  • Track record of building rather than simply managing (e.g., establishing a new market, business unit, commercial operation, or partnership structure).
  • Ability to operate effectively in a highly ambiguous environment without a finished playbook and to create one.
  • Combination of strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
  • Willingness and credibility to lead conversations, negotiate agreements, and build partnerships personally.
  • Fluent Dutch and professional English.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within the Netherlands and to Berlin.

Nice To Haves

  • German is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Validate market-entry assumptions and determine how FICUS should enter and scale in the Netherlands.
  • Analyze the market, competitive landscape, funding and reimbursement structures, procurement processes, and provider decision-making.
  • Build relationships with rehabilitation centers, hospitals, healthcare groups, professional associations, health insurers, and other relevant healthcare stakeholders.
  • Lead commercial conversations, develop, negotiate, and close initial pilot partnerships.
  • Secure lighthouse partnerships and develop a repeatable commercial approach from early market experience.
  • Navigate regulatory, data-protection, procurement, and reimbursement requirements in the Netherlands.
  • Ensure market entry is compliant, clinically relevant, and commercially viable.
  • Contribute a deep understanding of Dutch rehabilitation workflows and provider needs to product development.
  • Help determine local product adaptations and identify clinical, administrative, and operational processes for FICUS to address.
  • Build the Dutch market hands-on initially, supported by the founding team and German teams.
  • Build the local team and assume full operational and financial responsibility for the Netherlands, including team leadership, operations, and P&L, once the market is validated.
