About The Position

Country Club Attendants provide superior customer service to North Palm Beach country club members and guests. Employees in this category have varying responsibilities depending on the area of assignment within the golf facility; i.e., starter, ranger, driving range attendant, cart attendant, and golf shop clerk. Essential Functions Interacts with all members and guests in a friendly, courteous and professional manner. Responds to emergencies, complaints and problems promptly and informs supervisors accordingly. Sets up and assists in coordinating special activities and events (e.g., golf leagues, tournaments, etc.). Performs routine custodial and maintenance tasks to ensure facilities and grounds are clean and safe. Prepares accurate reports as needed and organizes and maintains records of assigned function. Provides support to other staff members in achieving departmental objectives and sustaining efficient operations. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS/REQUIREMENTS OF ASSIGNED AREAS STARTER Starts golfers on first tees in accordance with starting time sheets. Communicates general information regarding the golf course and playing conditions and delivers daily messages from the Head Golf Professional. Assists in filling divots and repairing ball marks on the golf greens as needed. RANGER Regularly patrols the course using golf carts, reports problems or any unusual activity to supervisors and routinely checks players for starter tickets to ensure only authorized golfers are playing. Maintains an orderly flow of play while advising golfers of proper golf protocol and etiquette. Assists in filling divots and repairing ball marks on the golf greens as needed. DRIVING RANGE ATTENDANT Opens and closes the driving range, turns on and off alarm system and secures the facility. Washes golf balls, collects balls using range picker, maintains ball dispensers and picks up range baskets. Enforces driving range rules and regulations which include the dress policy. CART ATTENDANT Prepares and issues carts to golfers and monitors the return of carts at the end of play. Washes and cleans golf carts and replaces carts that break down or are in need of repair. Charges batteries and maintains proper water levels in batteries. GOLF SHOP CLERK Greets visitors, registers and checks in golfers, and answers/routes incoming telephone calls. Assists in the ordering, receiving, stocking and selling of merchandise. Processes cash and charge payments, issues receipts, and maintains records of daily transactions. Requirements

  • At least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Previous experience in a customer service capacity.
  • Knowledge of golfing operations and/or participation in the game of golf.
  • Knowledge of basic first aid procedures and CPR.
  • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and/or oral instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors and the public at large.
  • Knowledge of current computing technologies, software applications and point-of-sale systems pertinent to the golf shop industry.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license to operate golf carts and range pickers.
  • Regularly required to reach with hands and arms and frequently required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls.
  • Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Frequently lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
  • Assignments may require standing for long periods of time.
  • Frequently works in outdoor environments with regular exposure to adverse conditions: heat, cold, humidity, dust, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, etc.
  • Some tasks include working in and around mechanical parts and moving vehicles, where heightened awareness to surroundings and observance of established safety precautions are essential in the prevention of injuries or accidents.
  • On occasion, may be exposed to electrical shock.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • Generally works under normal office conditions with infrequent exposure to adverse environmental factors.
