About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and punctual Counter Sales Associate to join our team. This role is dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service, collaborating on inventory care, and supporting smooth branch operations to align with company standards. If you enjoy solving problems and building relationships in an evolving and collaborative industrial environment, we want to meet you! A Counter Sales Associate will partner with our customers to provide industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding equipment, and other essential supplies. You will serve as a trusted partner, guiding and supporting customers on the right resources and materials needed to bring their visions and projects to life. By demonstrating equipment use and sharing insights on product quality, you help our customers pioneer new solutions in their own work. Champions a culture of safety by following group guidelines including safety and the use of personal protective equipment to ensure a secure and supportive environment for everyone. Embraces and aligns with Airgas Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and AOSs to ensure a safe and supportive workplace for everyone. Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external partners, fostering understanding and long-term relationships. Ensures all required paperwork is accurately completed, including coding, costing, and pricing. Partners with customers to identify the most effective and appropriate solutions for their specific tasks; demonstrates equipment use to build customer confidence. Collaborates on order entry and processes transactions; supports the team with the smooth reconciliation of deposits. Coordinates via phone, e-mail, and in person with customers and team members to provide helpful information on costs and delivery. Contributes to an outgoing call strategy to support the continued growth and collective success of the branch. Coordinates the transfer of merchandise between locations to meet customer needs. Nurtures a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a supportive and collaborative manner with customers, vendors, and colleagues. Stocks shelves and maintains welcoming showroom displays to provide an excellent, inviting customer experience. Collaborates on cylinder movement and pallet organization.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of previous product, warehouse and/or sales related experience and/or training (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Strong multitasking abilities, exceptional attention to detail, and a proven track record of punctuality.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong background in the gas, welding, and safety supply industry with retail experience, a plus.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Google and/or MS Office Applications.
  • Willingness to learn and live by Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and all related rules, regulations, and procedures applicable to this position's responsibilities.
