About The Position

The Counter Sales Associate works with customers to identify what they need, develop solutions, and ensure a smooth sales process. The role serves walk-in and phone customers, processes and distributes products, handles customer questions and complaints, enters sales orders, secures payment or credit authorization, evaluates warranty items, estimates delivery dates, and assists with receiving, shipping, and general warehouse work. The position is based at the Lenexa, Kansas sales center and follows a Monday–Friday schedule with a rotating Saturday morning shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to move 100 pounds with a dolly.
• Strong counter presence and ability to work directly with customers for a large portion of the day.
• Strong customer-service attitude.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment involving inventory, product allocations, and customer issues.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of related inside sales experience preferred.
• Familiarity with a related product line, such as pool supplies, parts, chemicals, or pool construction.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with walk-in and phone customers while representing the company professionally.
• Process, pull, and distribute customer products promptly and efficiently.
• Respond to customer questions and complaints in a timely, professional manner.
• Enter sales orders accurately to generate invoices for products to be picked up or delivered.
• Secure invoice payment using proper funds or obtain credit authorization in accordance with company policy.
• Evaluate and determine the disposition of counter warranty items based on the manufacturer's warranty policy and customer needs.
• Estimate delivery dates using knowledge of vendors’ production and delivery schedules.
• Assist with receiving, shipping, and general warehouse duties.
