Counselors, School Break Day Camp Ages 3–12 (Manhattan & Brooklyn)
About The Position
NORY is seeking enthusiastic, energetic, and reliable School Break Camp Counselors to join their NYC team. NORY operates camps during select school breaks and days when schools are closed throughout the year, making this a great opportunity for teachers, substitute teachers, college students, teaching artists, afterschool educators, and camp professionals looking for flexible opportunities that fit their availability. This role involves leading campers through interactive STEM activities, guiding their educational and personal development, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, and helping to organize and lead camp activities.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience working with children ages 3 to 12
- Genuine passion for education and child development
- Enthusiastic about learning new technologies and skills
- Maintain a positive outlook, always seeking solutions and welcoming constructive feedback to foster personal growth
- Energetic and fun loving nature
- Interested in working during at least some school breaks and days when schools are closed throughout the year. You do not need to commit to every School Break Day Camp.
Responsibilities
- Lead campers through interactive STEM activities, guiding both their educational and personal development.
- Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all campers, adhering to camp safety guidelines.
- Help organize and lead camp activities, ensuring each day is dynamic and enriching for every camper.
