About The Position

NORY is seeking dynamic Summer Coding Lead Teachers who are passionate about teaching coding and creating a safe and memorable experience for campers. The role primarily involves leading the morning coding program, introducing campers to programming languages similar to Scratch, and guiding engineering projects using Arduino circuit boards, sensors, proprietary robots, and other innovative technologies. The position aims to foster curiosity, creativity, and confidence in campers as they explore STEM in a fun and supportive environment.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience working with children ages 8–12.
• Passion for coding, engineering, and emerging technologies.
• Enthusiastic and eager to learn new technologies, teaching strategies, and STEM concepts.
• Positive and solution-oriented attitude.
• Energetic and fun-loving nature.
• Empathetic mentor capable of acting as a role model and fostering a supportive environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with programming languages similar to Scratch.
• Experience with Arduino circuit boards, sensors, and robots.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate Coding Lessons: Teach coding concepts using programming languages similar to Scratch while creating an engaging and interactive learning experience.
• Coach Engineering Projects: Guide campers as they build inventions using Arduino circuit boards, sensors, proprietary robots, and other STEM technologies.
• Mentorship and Guidance: Lead campers through interactive coding and STEM activities, supporting both their educational and personal development.
• Safety and Supervision: Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all campers while adhering to camp safety guidelines.
• Activity Coordination: Help organize and lead camp activities, ensuring each day is dynamic, engaging, and enriching for every camper.
