Counselor - Partials 10 months
About The Position
The Counselor provides direct care and manages the patient population of a partial care treatment center serving children and adolescents. The position is with CASTLE PHP at 100 Townsend Avenue, Berlin, NJ, and is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Compensation is $20.00–$22.00 per hour, plus full benefits. The Counselor helps maintain a therapeutic and safe environment, facilitates therapeutic groups addressing identified treatment issues, contributes observations to the multidisciplinary team, and documents patient progress and required information. The role also includes riding with the van driver to transport patients and maintaining certification in the Handle with Care behavior management system.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field.
- Experience with children in behavioral and mental health.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a therapeutic and safe environment for all patients.
- Facilitate regular therapeutic groups that address identified treatment issues and reinforce patients’ treatment plans.
- Provide observational feedback within the multidisciplinary team context.
- Accurately record daily patient progress in medical records and complete other required paperwork.
- Ride with the van driver to transport patients to and from the program.
- Maintain certification in the Handle with Care behavior management system.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
