About The Position

YOU Inc. is seeking a Student Advisor (Counselor II) to join the Dynamy Internship Year Program. This is a nationally recognized gap-year experience that empowers students ages 17–22 to grow through hands-on learning, internships, and personal development. In this role, you’ll guide students through a transformative year, helping them build confidence, independence, and purpose as they prepare for college and beyond.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Human Services, Education, Psychology, or related field preferred)
  • 1–3 years of related experience working with youth or young adults
  • Valid driver’s license (Class C or D)

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate weekly individual and group advising sessions to support students’ academic, personal, and professional goals.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance in an experiential learning environment.
  • Maintain advising notes and track student progress throughout the program.
  • Support students in securing and maintaining internship placements.
  • Conduct internship agreement and closing meetings with students and sponsors.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internship sites and community partners.
  • Track and document student internship hours and performance.
  • Plan and facilitate psychoeducational workshops and experiential learning activities.
  • Collaborate with program staff to enhance the student experience.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians (minimum monthly).
  • Document all outreach in the Parent Communication log.
  • Provide updates and support to ensure student success.
  • Maintain student records, including portfolios, evaluations, and program documentation.
  • Complete semester evaluations for each student.
  • Participate in supervision, staff meetings, and program planning.
