About The Position

Behavioral Health Network (BHN) is a leading statewide provider of behavioral health services and a Certified Great Place to Work. With deep roots in Western Massachusetts and a growing presence in communities throughout the state, we are currently seeking a Counselor-Case Manager to join our Opportunity House team and help advance our mission of empowering people to live healthier, more fulfilling lives. At the Opportunity House, Behavioral Health Network provides a structured setting for men 18 year of age and older to progress from early recovery to a productive community living environment. Our 24-hour long-term residential program assists individuals using a variety of services, including counseling, case management, education and pre-vocational services, and family reunification.

Requirements

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent (required).
At least 1-2 years of experience in human services (required).
At least one year of experience working in substance treatment environment (required).
Familiarity with Internet, word processing and email systems.
Working knowledge of DPH Bureau of Substance Abuse regulations.
Valid Driver’s License & car available for work purposes (required).

LADCI or LADCII or equivalent (preferred).

Responsibilities

Providing guidance and direct counseling for individuals served.
Supporting individuals’ growth, independence, and safety.
Developing and facilitating treatment plans and diverse psycho-educational groups.
Providing crisis intervention and emergency services, when needed.
Assisting individuals with aftercare planning by providing referrals and access to appropriate agencies.
Providing transportation for individuals, as needed.
Completing program specific documentation such as incident reports and progress notes.
Working as a collaborative team to deliver high-quality, sound clinical treatment.
Growing through ongoing training and firsthand experience to enhance skills and provide additional employment opportunities.
