This position provides academic advising, career counseling, and personal/transitional counseling to a caseload of students. The role involves consulting with institute faculty, staff, parents, and vocational rehabilitation counselors, completing necessary documentation such as case notes, outreach, and reports, and participating in department meetings. The Counselor/Academic Advising Services at NTID provides transitional counseling to support students' academic, personal, and career growth, working collaboratively with the RIT Community to prioritize diverse, inclusive, and equitable services. Services are provided to students who are deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing in a college environment, adhering to the American Counseling Association (ACA) Code of Ethics. This role is part of a career ladder that includes Counselor/Academic Advisor, Senior Counselor/Academic Advisor, and Assistant Director, with salary and placement determined by experience, licensure, certification, and skill proficiency.
