About The Position

AI is rewriting the rules of legal practice. CV Labs is the product and growth studio inside CanadaVisa, Canada's immigration engine. Our ecosystem reaches 1.5 million visitors per month, powers the country's largest immigration peer community (~1M members), processes thousands of cases per year, and delivers personalized guidance to 180,000+ registered users. We have distribution that most startups would kill for — and the engineering team to do something extraordinary with it. We're building an AI-native law firm. Our lawyers don't just serve clients — they collaborate with engineers to automate their own workflows, shape the product roadmap, and push the limits of what AI can do in a regulated practice. The goal isn't to use technology to make lawyers 10% faster. It's to rethink from first principles how legal services are delivered, who can access them, and what a legal career looks like in 2026 and beyond. We are backed by 30 years of infrastructure, a dominant market position, and a team that ships like a startup. Think of us as the best parts of a rocketship with the revenue base of an institution. A recent legislative change has unlocked a massive new segment of Canadian immigration — one that potentially affects millions of people who don't yet know they're eligible. We have built the content engine, the distribution channels, and the client-facing product to capture this wave. What we don't have is enough people to keep up with demand. This is not a speculative bet. The leads are here today. The product is being built right now. We need sharp, ambitious lawyers who can advise clients at velocity, close with conviction, and think critically about how to make every part of the process faster and better.

Requirements

A licensed lawyer. You're a member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario (LSO).
A closer. You're persuasive, clear, and concise. You can explain complex legal concepts to a nervous first-time client and make them feel confident in minutes. You're energized — not drained — by a full calendar.
A fast learner. Immigration experience is a plus, not a prerequisite. We've built AI-powered training tools that can get you advising clients within weeks. We'd rather hire someone with killer instincts and teach them the domain than the reverse.
A systems thinker. When you solve a problem twice, you ask why it isn't automated. You don't need to write code, but you think in workflows, edge cases, and scalable processes.
AI-curious. You've used ChatGPT, Claude, or similar tools and you've thought seriously about what they mean for your profession. You're excited — not threatened — by the idea that software can do parts of your job better than you can.
Startup-wired. You want ownership, speed, and impact. You're not looking for a playbook someone else wrote — you want to write it. You thrive in environments where the rules are still being figured out.

Nice To Haves

Immigration experience is a plus, not a prerequisite.

Responsibilities

Advise and convert. Speak with prospective clients who come to us through our content and digital channels. Assess their situation, explain their options clearly, and guide them toward the right service. You'll own the client relationship from first call through file completion.
Deliver legal work. Manage immigration files end-to-end, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and speed. You won't be buried in paperwork — our product handles most of the heavy lifting — but you'll be responsible for the quality of what goes out the door.
Build the machine. Collaborate with our product and engineering team to automate workflows, flag edge cases, and turn your expertise into features. Today a file might take 30 minutes of your time. We want to get that to 30 seconds. You'll help us figure out how.
Stress-test our AI. You'll be one of the first people to use our tools in production. When something breaks or misses a nuance, you'll catch it, document it, and work with the team to fix it.
Codify what works. Build playbooks, refine training materials, and develop the internal knowledge base that lets us ramp future hires in days, not months.
