About The Position

The Costume Support role provides wardrobe assistance for Busch Gardens performers and shows. The work includes preparing costumes according to cast schedules, helping performers before and after shows, dressing performers, maintaining and repairing costumes, handling laundry, and completing venue and inventory tasks. The role may also involve stagehand duties during shows and other assignments as requested. This is a seasonal position requiring wardrobe assistance experience. Work locations may vary according to business needs and career development opportunities.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old.
• Previous experience with sewing and clothing alterations required.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Good communication, organizational, and follow-up skills with Stage Managers and Supervisors.
• Able to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Able to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather.
• Able to walk extensively, stand frequently, and repeatedly climb or ascend heights.
• Able to kneel, squat, bend from floor to waist and waist to overhead, reach overhead, and perform repeated simple grasping and fine hand-manipulation tasks.
• Able to perform cleaning duties, including use of cleaning chemicals.
• Able to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including opening, mid, and closing shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to work at different locations as placement depends on business needs and career development opportunities.
• Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and stay on task throughout the day.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Prior work experience with costumes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Preset a large inventory of costumes daily based on cast schedules.
• Assist show performers with costumes before and after shows.
• Dress performers.
• Perform light sewing repairs and maintain costumes and accessories.
• Cable mechanical costumes and repair headgear.
• Hand-wash and machine-wash a large volume of costumes daily.
• Receive, sort, and put away laundry and costumes.
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly paperwork as needed.
• Perform daily venue procedures, including cleaning, organization, and inventory.
• Perform stagehand duties during shows in some cases.
• Perform special assignments as requested.
