About The Position

This is a student employee position within the Theatre and Dance department. The Costume Shop Worker will provide assistance to shop managers in building and maintaining costumes for Theatre and Dance productions. This role also involves teaching lab students sewing techniques, and helping to maintain and organize costume storage.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled as a current student at Belmont University.
• Basic knowledge of department and theatre practices
• Skilled in both hand-sewing and the used of sewing machines, overlock machines, and irons
• Understanding of commercial sewing patterns and basic alterations
• Organizational skills
• 2-3 years of sewing experience

• Ability to read patterns is helpful
