About The Position

The Cost Modeling team helps Seagate understand how products and components are manufactured around the world and what drives their cost. We work at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and analytics to develop cost models that support supplier negotiations, manufacturing decisions, product design tradeoffs, and cost optimization opportunities. Our work provides a unique opportunity to learn how products move from raw materials through manufacturing processes to finished goods. Your work will help inform supplier negotiations, manufacturing decisions, and product cost optimization efforts across Seagate's supply chain. Analyze manufacturing processes, materials, equipment, labor, yield, and other cost drivers. Research manufacturing technologies, production methods, and industry practices. Support cost analysis, benchmarking, and scenario modeling. Work with Engineering, Supply Chain, Commodity Management, Operations, and other subject matter experts to gather information and validate assumptions. Present analyses, insights, and recommendations to technical and business stakeholders. Support initiatives related to manufacturing efficiency, cost optimization, and supplier engagement.
