About The Position

Responsible for leading and managing all aspects of project cost control for assigned engineering and construction projects, including in the healthcare sector, to ensure financial accountability and budget compliance. Position duties include: preparation, validation, and maintenance of comprehensive cost estimates, budgets, cash flow projections, capital planning documents, and Schedules of Values from project inception through closeout; monitor and evaluate project costs, commitments, and expenditures against project budget, utilizing advanced cost control methodologies and systems; identify cost variances, analyze financial trends, and implement corrective measures to mitigate risks; work with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to integrate cost management practices into all phases of project lifecycle; prepare detailed monthly cost reports, performance dashboards, earned value management (EVM) metrics, and cash flow forecasts to support executive decision-making; identify and assess risks impacting project cost performance; provide technical cost input and financial analysis for value engineering workshops, lifecycle cost studies, funding presentations, and other stakeholder engagements; validate contractor payment applications, change orders, procurement cost reviews, claims, and invoices to ensure compliance with client approval processes, contractual obligations, and funding authorizations; oversee financial aspects of project closeout, including reconciliation of costs, validation of final accounts, and documentation to confirm contractual and audit requirements are met. Position requires extensive utilization of construction project management applications, including Ebuillder, Kahua, Primavera P6, Autodesk, PowerBI, PowerQueryEditor, and Bluebeam. Position requires approximately 25% travel time to project sites located throughout the United States. Position based in Charlotte, NC; may work at home up to 2 days per week, subject to change at any time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering
  • Min. five years’ of progressive experience in position offered, or as project controls specialist for public agency construction and engineering projects in the healthcare sector
  • Preparing estimates and forecasts for costs and schedules
  • Developing & maintaining baseline budgets and schedules using earned value techniques
  • Monitoring project costs, revenue, progress and earned value
