About The Position

The Cost Accounting Intern will assist with fiscal year-end activities and month end closings. These activities will involve the intern to perform variance analysis, account reconciliations, The intern will assist in reviewing Shure’s standard costs and updating transfer prices for the new fiscal year. This Internship is Hybrid in Niles, IL.

Requirements

• In-process of a bachelor’s or advanced degree in accounting or related field
• Highly organized and willing to learn end-to-end process improvement skills
• Able to follow standard instructions, practices and procedures
• Self-motivated, team player, detail oriented
• Able to meet required deadlines
• Ability to work independently with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good Microsoft Office skills. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel, SharePoint.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete account reconciliations
• Assist in generating schedules for the fiscal year end audit
• Review actual to budget results and provide explanations on variances
• Assist in setting standard product costs and analyzing changes
• Update transfer prices in SAP
• Assist with cost modeling and make / buy decisions
