Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 1+ years of accounting experience; manufacturing or cost accounting exposure preferred
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and an interest in developing expertise in cost accounting, inventory, and manufacturing finance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, data analysis, and pivot tables
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, learn quickly, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions

Nice To Haves

  • Internship, co-op, or prior experience in manufacturing, consumer products is preferred
  • Exposure to ERP systems or a standard cost environment is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with analysis of manufacturing and plant performance, including labor, material, and overhead costs, to support operational and financial decision-making
  • Prepare routine standard cost and variance reports, research differences, and escalate issues as needed
  • Support inventory valuation activities, including physical inventories, cycle counts, reconciliations, and inventory audit preparation
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities related to inventory, cost of goods sold, and other cost accounting entries
  • Help maintain standard costing data, including bills of material and overhead assumptions
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc cost, margin, and profitability analyses under guidance from finance leadership
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and expense tracking for manufacturing operations
  • Assist in identifying material loss, waste, and production variances and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
  • Follow internal controls, accounting policies, and established processes to help ensure accurate cost accounting and reporting
