About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join our Finance team. As a Cost Accountant, you will play a critical role in tracking, analyzing, and reporting on all costs associated with the manufacturing and installation of our products, including inventory, overhead, and installation expenses. You will work cross-functionally with our operations, supply chain, and engineering teams to ensure accurate cost data and support sound financial decision-making.

Requirements

  • 2–5+ years of relative accounting experience.
  • Solid understanding of cost accounting principles, including inventory costing, and overhead allocation.
  • Experience using ERP systems for cost and inventory accounting. NetSuite experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modeling.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • CPA or CMA certification, or progress toward certification, is a plus.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or inventory-based environment.
  • Experience using NetSuite for cost and inventory accounting.
  • Working knowledge of month-end close procedures, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
  • Experience with job costing and project-based cost tracking.
  • Ability to analyze cost variances and communicate findings clearly to non-accounting stakeholders.
  • Experience collaborating with operations, supply chain, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and monitor the cost accounting system, ensuring accurate tracking of all direct and indirect costs related to product manufacturing and installation, including raw materials, labor, overhead, and installation expenses.
  • Perform regular inventory valuation and reconciliation, coordinating with the Supply Chain and Operations teams to ensure inventory records in NetSuite are complete and accurate.
  • Analyze manufacturing overhead costs and assist in the development and maintenance of overhead allocation calculations.
  • Assist in month-end close activities, including preparation of cost-related journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain, Operations and NetSuite teams to ensure accurate job costing and project cost tracking for product installations.
  • Prepare and distribute regular cost reports and dashboards to support management decision-making.
  • Assist in annual budgeting and forecasting processes as they relate to cost of goods sold and operational expenses.
  • Support internal and external audits by maintaining well-organized and accurate cost accounting records.
  • Other duties as assigned.
