About The Position

York Container, an Atlantic Packaging Company, is an industry leader in the manufacture of performance-based brown box, multi-color display-ready and e-commerce corrugated packaging. The company is seeking a highly-motivated, self-driven 2nd shift Corrugator Downstacker to join their successful teams. The Down-stacker works within a team to operate the corrugated machine in a safe, efficient and reliable manner.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Up to two (2) years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Good interpersonal & communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail orientated and self-motivated individual (proactive attitude)
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment, learn quickly and follow established processes
  • Good mathematical skills - understand basic algebra, able to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, volume etc. (add and subtract numbers, multiply and divide by 10’s and 100’s …)
  • Expected to follow all facility safety guidelines that include adhering to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and Food Safety as outlined during their training.

Responsibilities

  • Continually monitors quality of board
  • Inspects product visually and with measuring tools
  • Monitor output and adjust machine with communication to maintain product quality
  • Maintain and report operating and quality records
  • Check all machinery for mechanical soundness and make sure all safety features are in good working condition and report all unsafe conditions to supervisor
  • Administration of the different waste categories
  • Maintain at all times the machine at expected housekeeping standards
  • Cross-training to learn other corrugator functions
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures
  • Assists other departments and/or areas when requested by management/supervisor
  • Troubleshoot when operating issue on machine occur
  • Train other team members to pass on knowledge & expertise
  • Ability to define problems, collect data/facts (observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources) and draw reasonable conclusions
  • Ability to deal with various situations
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
