Role Summary: The Corrosion Specialist I is responsible for implementing and maintaining the Company corrosion control programs. This includes overseeing cathodic protection systems, supporting regulatory compliance, managing contractors, and providing technical guidance to Corrosion Technicians and Operations personnel.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years related field experience in pipeline and/or tank corrosion control.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office and familiarity with commercial Corrosion Control databases required.
  • Up to 25% Travel Required
  • MPP Cathodic Protection Tester (CP-1) certification
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to occasionally climb tank stairways, enter tanks through manways, walk pipeline right-of-way in all terrain and withstand extreme weather conditions in both summer and winter.
  • Normal office environment when not working in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Compliance. Ensure corrosion control activities comply with Company policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Support regulatory audits and inspections.
  • Program Execution. Perform and oversee corrosion control surveys. Identify and implement corrective actions to maintain adequate cathodic protection.
  • Data Management. Maintain accurate corrosion control records in the Company’s database. Analyze survey data to evaluate remediation needs and integrate findings with other integrity programs.
  • Project Management. Lead the planning and execution of corrosion control projects. Develop scopes of work, estimate costs, coordinate materials and equipment, schedule activities, and oversee field execution.
  • Contractor Management. Supervise third-party contractors performing corrosion control work. Ensure work is completed safely, on time, and in accordance with Company standards.
  • Technical Support. Serve as a subject matter expert for corrosion-related issues. Provide guidance to Corrosion Technicians and Operations personnel. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving field issues related to corrosion.
  • Training & Development. Support the training and development of Corrosion Technicians and Operations personnel. Share best practices and ensure consistent application of corrosion control procedures.
  • Industry Engagement. Maintain active AMPP certifications and represent the Company at local corrosion coordinating committees and AMPP section meetings.
  • Continuous Improvement. Stay current with industry standards, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes. Recommend improvements to corrosion control practices and procedures.
  • Other Duties as Assigned.
