About The Position

Corrpro Canada is Canada's largest corrosion engineering, cathodic protection, and corrosion monitoring business for the protection and preservation of infrastructure. Corrpro Canada provides professional corrosion consulting and cathodic protection engineering services to major oil companies, government agencies, municipal water, sewer and gas utilities, universities, and public transportation agencies. Corrpro Canada has complete construction installation services, including crews and equipment to install any type of cathodic protection system for any type of structure. Under the supervision of senior personnel, the Field Technician supports the testing, evaluation and installation of cathodic protection systems. This is an entry level position which is directly supervised with little decision making or responsibility. A successful Field Technician will be able to learn and adequately demonstrate basic testing, evaluation, and installation skills.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Trade Certificate.
  • Technical degree or diploma combination of education and experience.
  • 0-2 years of experience.
  • Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures.
  • Ability to perform arithmetic calculations and apply basic mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
  • Hands-on and mechanically inclined

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience is considered an asset but is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct various specific test procedures to gather data for evaluation purposes.
  • Gather structure-to-soil potential data, soil measurements and rectifier data.
  • Sketch rectifiers, anodes, test stations, and other design features on prepared drawings.
  • Assist senior personnel in the preparation of survey reports and final job reports.
  • Sketch physical features of installation site for subsequent detail.
  • Organize and reduce data gathered, prepare charts and tables.
  • Assemble data for preparation of final client report including service recommendations.
  • Diagnose and recommend remedies for system difficulties observed during resurvey operations.
