About The Position

This position is for a Corrector (CUPE) for the course POL3102, Modern Political Thought II, Section B00, during the Fall 2026 semester. The primary responsibility is the grading of papers and exams, with a total of 96 hours allocated for this task. The work is to be performed on campus, and the student must meet deadlines set by the supervisor, Professor Constance DeVereaux. The course explores the origins and development of later modern political thought from the 19th century onwards, including topics such as socialism, liberalism, Marxism, decolonialism, feminism, postmodernism, and Indigenous perspectives. It is recommended that students have taken POL 2107 and POL 2108 prior to this course. The work environment is in-person, requiring travel to the University of Ottawa campus. All university employees must complete mandatory legislated training. The hiring process is governed by the CUPE 2626 collective agreement.

Requirements

Priority will be given to candidates in accordance with articles 18.5 and 18.6 of the CUPE collective agreement.
Teaching method will be delivered in an in-person format.
Some of the work will have to be done on campus.
Students must be available to travel to the University of Ottawa campus in Ottawa at the request of their supervisor and/or the School.
All University of Ottawa employees are required under provincial law to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training offered by the University.
The hiring process will be governed by the current CUPE 2626 collective agreement.
