About The Position

This posting is for a Corrector position for the TMM 3102 course, Proteins: Structure, Function and Disease, during the Fall 2026 semester. The corrector will be responsible for invigilating and marking mid-term and final exams, meeting with students for exam viewing and grade discussions, assisting students with their research paper selection, tracking research papers to prevent duplication, and marking the research papers. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31. Undergraduate students will be paid at a lower rate, while graduate students will receive a higher rate. These rates do not include vacation or statutory pay and are subject to change based on a new collective agreement ratification. All mandatory legislated training provided by the University must be completed. Requirements

  • A BSc or BSc and MSc with a strong background in protein structure and function.
  • Working knowledge of methods used to solve protein structures (x-ray crystallography, cryo-electron microscopy, and NMR spectroscopy).
  • Strong working knowledge of protein visualization software (PyMol and Chimera).

Responsibilities

  • Invigilate and mark the mid-term and final exam.
  • Meet students for exam viewing and grade discussion.
  • Assist students with their choice of research paper.
  • Track the chosen research paper for each student to prevent students from working on the same research paper.
  • Mark the research paper.
