Requirements
- Three years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of a steam or hot water generating plant, or a steam and electric generating plant; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Monitor heating and cooling equipment during routine and emergency conditions
- Perform maintenance, clean machinery, and complete basic repairs to support proper operation
- Operate pumps, fans, control systems, and other supporting equipment
- Check boiler water chemistry and maintain logs of testing and chemical supplies
- Guide inmate workers, check movement, and maintain safe and secure work practices
- Report concerns to supervisors and complete daily paperwork and inventories
