Requirements
- One year as a Corrections Officer 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Four years of experience in corrections security work in a Pennsylvania state or county corrections facility.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

- Persons seeking employment under this option will be required to successfully complete, or have completed, a training program conducted by the Department of Corrections.
Responsibilities
- Assign tasks to officers and monitor their performance
- Inspect work areas and housing units to ensure alertness and compliance of officers
- Coordinate inmate movements and observe behavior for safety concerns
- Oversee schedules and ensure major activities receive proper supervision
- Investigate staff violations and participate in disciplinary actions
