Utility Plant Operator
About The Position
This is an entry level position assisting Facility Operations personnel with monitoring, operating, and maintaining various facility support systems. Typical tasks include: Maintain empty drum recycling process, Forklift operation, Chemical off-loads, Preventative maintenance and servicing duties, Restock supplies, Perform tasks as “Parts Runner”, Change filters, lubrication of equipment, Change out chemical containers, Support Facility Plant Operator activities such as gathering, analyzing and recording indicator readings, Perform duties as member of the Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) / Emergency Response Team (ERT), Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Able to learn to operate a forklift
- Experience in performing duties in an industrial facility
- Ability to read and comprehend work instructions
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Demonstrated ability to work without constant direct supervision
- Must have a high degree of integrity and self-motivation
- Ability to professionally interact with personnel inside and outside the department
- Must possess the ability to quickly adapt to emergency situations, changing schedules, and priorities
- Strong organizational skills
- Background screens are conducted for these positions
Nice To Haves
- Basic computer skills
- Prior experience operating a forklift
