Requirements
- Three years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of a steam or hot water generating plant, or a steam and electric generating plant; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Maintain efficient operation of high-pressure steam boilers under normal and emergency conditions
- Operate and care for pumps, fans, control systems, and related auxiliary equipment
- Test boiler water chemistry and track chemical levels and supply inventory
- Perform cleaning tasks and complete daily inventories for assigned areas
- Oversee inmate workers, monitor movement, and maintain safety and tool control
- Report concerns to supervisors and complete required paperwork and documentation
