About The Position

The Corrections Recovery Program Assistant provides administrative support, participant engagement, recovery support, and program coordination for Full Circle Recovery's Corrections Recovery Coaching Program. This position serves as a primary point of contact for incarcerated individuals seeking recovery coaching services and assists with communication management, participant tracking, waitlist management, documentation, resource navigation, and correspondence through approved correctional communication platforms. This is a non-exempt position and is based on a 40-hour work week.

Requirements

  • Individuals with lived experience in recovery and/or the criminal justice system are encouraged to apply.
  • Any court-ordered supervision must be successfully completed prior to employment.
  • Must agree to complete the CCAR Recovery Coach Academy and Ethical Considerations for Recovery Coaches within six months of hire.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be an independent thinker, trustworthy, dependable, and responsible.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to listen empathetically and provide support without judgment.
  • Demonstrated empathy and cultural competence to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom), and data entry.
  • Valid driver’s license, good driving record, reliable transportation, and car insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong understanding of opioid use disorder, substance use disorder, harm reduction, recovery capital, and recovery pathways preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming phone calls, emails, and other communications related to the Corrections Recovery Coaching Program.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for incarcerated individuals seeking recovery coaching services, including providing program information and documenting requests for services.
  • Receive, document, and route calls, referrals, requests, and messages to appropriate staff members when necessary.
  • Maintain professional, timely, and confidential communication with recoverees, community partners, and program staff.
  • Correspond with incarcerated individuals through approved correctional communication platforms, including CorrLinks.
  • Utilize lived experience, when appropriate, to provide encouragement, accountability, recovery-oriented support.
  • Support recoverees in building recovery capital and strengthening community connections.
  • Maintain current knowledge of community resources related to recovery, reentry, and basic needs.
  • Develop and maintain professional working relationships with community resource providers, service organizations, and community partners.
  • Provide resource navigation, referrals, and connections to community resources and service providers based on individual needs and circumstances.
  • Maintain and manage program waitlists for corrections recovery coaching services.
  • Monitor program email accounts, voicemail systems, and other communication platforms.
  • Track participant activity and program status changes while maintaining accurate records and communicating relevant updates to staff.
  • Engage in ongoing training and professional development to stay informed about best practices in recovery coaching on topics such as ethics, boundaries, communication skills, recovery principles, and multiple pathways of recovery.
  • Practice self-care to maintain personal well-being and resilience.
  • Assures all work performed is done in accordance with OSHA safety standards and those established by Full Circle Recovery.
