About The Position
The Corrections Maintenance Foreman position with the Department of Corrections (DOC) offers an exciting chance to lead hands-on work at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Coal Township. Requirements
- Four years of experience performing building maintenance, construction, or general trades work; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethton, PA is required.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Able to perform essential job functions.
- Pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead inmate workers in construction, groundskeeping, janitorial duties, and general maintenance
- Assign daily schedules, oversee tasks, and inspect completed work
- Provide instruction in the operation of machinery, review tool use, and support preventative maintenance
- Assist with carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, and other skilled trades
- Issue materials, track tools, and conduct searches to ensure proper accountability
- Identify needed materials and submit purchase requests to support work assignments
