The Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a highly driven Corrections Food Service Instructor who is eager to energize, teach, and lead with purpose. This position provides instruction and leadership to inmate workers in food service operations within the facility. It plays a central role in maintaining safe, efficient, and sanitary food preparation and service.

Requirements

Two years of experience in food preparation, production, or service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation, food catering service, restaurant, or in a similar large-scale food production operation; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

Instruct inmates in food preparation, production, service, and baking
Ensure proper operation, cleaning, maintenance, and storage of tools, equipment, and work areas
Guide timely meal production by following recipes, adjusting ingredients, and monitoring quality
Review census and menu data, requisition and store supplies, and enforce first-in, first-out procedures
Plan work assignments, evaluate performance, and maintain care, custody, and control of inmate workers
